Jamboree Debrief 2010

I have heard from several people that the Jamboree activities yesterday went on too long for their liking. I agree. For young kids we figure that about 2 hours is the limit. And for the parents too! The opening day jamboree is a once a year event so this won’t be a regular thing. I can pass on feedback to the board that this was too long for the kids and parents. If you would like to comment directly their contact info is here: ptll.org/contact/ I think it would have been OK with just one game for the young kids. Also, I think the young kids should have gone before the old kids in the scheduling. Making young children (and their parents) wait around was not ideal. In retrospect, please feel free to let ME know about any issues ASAP so I can represent you and your children.

Base Coach – it could be you :)

Sometimes it is helpful to have volunteers coach a base.  Often time I coach first base since it gives me the most communication with the batter and gets the runner off on his way.  This is especially important for me with the younger kids.
