Team / Parents Meeting

The following are notes from the meeting.

Purpose of meeting:

1. To meet each other!

2. Expectations for the season for both players & parents.

KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL.
IMPROVE YOURSELF IN BOTH BASEBALL AND IN LIFE.

Behavior - parent presence to help keep kids focused.
The practices and games are a time for baseball. The people we are with are our team mates and we want to help each other.

Practice Expections
What to bring to practice: Hat, Glove, Athletic Supporter (cup).
Please call Clyde if you can't make practice or game. Contact info, click here.

Before the official start of practice: warm-up safety: the throwing grid : one kid next to the other. Light starts to warm up arm. Close throwing.

Game Day Expectations (parent - support signup sheet )

Winning: the idea of playing another team is not to win. It is to improve yourself. So, winning can be a fun goal. I love winning. I care about winning. If you try hard, if you give your best, then you never lose.

keep your eye on the ball - safety

Parent Support Needed:
Every game - scorekeeper (Mimi)
Every home game - concessions , lines on field, post-game field Raking, carrying gear back to Clyde's Truck

What the league needs
Field Maintenance! This is an ongoing challenge and is very much needed.

What you can do at home: play catch! inside and out.
It's not about throwing hard, it's about exchanging WELL. Speed, hard, etc. comes with repeated doing it well.

First Practice:
about the game. basic rules.
equipment intro, catching, how to hold a bat.
What we will cover
Basics - how the game is played.
